Nationality

Academic Prerequisites

Marks – FA/FSc/Equivalent:

  • Minimum 60% marks in FA/FSc and equivalent.
  • Candidates who secure 60% marks or above in BA/BSc/BA/BSc (Hons) and BBA/BPA, with 50% marks in FA/FSc are eligible for Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) Long Course.

Relaxation of Marks – FA/FSc:

55% marks for candidates from specified areas with domicile. Areas including Balochistan, FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan, District Neelum Azad Jammu Kashmir, District Kohistan, Chitral, Dir, Tehsil Balakot (Kaghan, Naran) of District Mansehra in KPK, Tharparkar and Tehsil Umer Kot in Sindh, District Rajanpur, Areas of Cholistan Desert, Dera Ghazi Khan, Sialkot, Gujrat and Dinga of Punjab. Besides being domicile holder, the candidates must have been actually studying in the same areas.

Serving Army Soldiers:

50% marks in FA/FSc and equivalent.

Hope Certificate:

Candidates who have been promoted in FSc Part-I and advance subsidiary examination 2025 can also apply on “Hope Certificate of 60% marks” duly issued by Head of the institution. FSc, A-levels and equivalent final result card/marks sheet must be submitted within one week of announcement of board results, otherwise candidates will not be considered in final merit. Candidates who apply on hope certificate and obtain less than 60% marks in FSc and grade A-C in advance level will be declared ineligible.

Verification of Mark Sheet/Certificate:

Candidates not issued with certificates or in possession of duplicate/revised mark sheets/certificates of Matric/Intermediate/BA/BSc must get a verification certificate signed by secretary/controller exam of concerned board/university.

‘A’ level equivalent issued by IBCC candidates with aggregate 60% marks are eligible. However, all candidates who have passed ‘A’ level and equivalent examination from abroad or have passed from Pakistan with the result less than three Cs are required to submit equivalence certificate issued by Inter Board of Chairman Committee (IBCC).

Registration & Initial Selection Process

Candidates can apply either online or by visiting the Army Selection and Recruitment Centers (AS&RCs). The following procedure applies:

Online Registration

Applicants must register through the official website www.joinpakarmy.gov.pk. After successful registration, candidates should download their exam slip within 5–7 working days.

Each candidate will receive a specific test date and time for the preliminary computer-based test, which cannot be changed. Candidates are also required to bring all necessary documents as mentioned in the advertisement. Basic computer knowledge is essential, as registration and tests are conducted digitally.


Important Notes

  • TCC candidates applying for PMA Long Course will be treated as repeater candidates.
  • First-time applicants for PMA LC will be considered fresh candidates, even if they have appeared in ISSB for Pakistan Navy or Pakistan Air Force.
  • Repeater candidates must report to their nearest AS&RC between 20 April 2026 to 1 May 2026 for the preliminary test.

Preliminary Selection Process

Selection is based on a module system for Inter Services Selection Board (ISSB) preparation. The initial stage includes the following tests:

  • Written / Intelligence Test (including English & Urdu Essay)
  • Medical Examination
  • Physical Test
  • Interview conducted by Selection & Recruitment Officer (S&RO)

Written & Intelligence Tests

These tests consist of multiple-choice questions from:

  • English
  • Mathematics
  • Pakistan Studies
  • Islamiat
  • General Knowledge

Candidates who pass this stage will proceed to physical tests, medical examination, and interview at AS&RCs.


Physical Test Requirements

All candidates must meet the following standards:

  • 1 km Run: 8 minutes
  • Push-ups: 15 repetitions in 2 minutes
  • Sit-ups: 15 repetitions in 2 minutes

Failure in any single activity will result in disqualification from the physical test and the candidate will not be issued an ISSB form.


Interview Process

Candidates who pass written, medical, and physical stages will appear for a final interview conducted by the S&RO and a psychologist.

Before the interview, candidates must write a short essay (10 lines) in both English and Urdu. The topic will be displayed on the board.

Each candidate is evaluated out of 20 marks, and a minimum of 12 marks is required to qualify. Those scoring below 12 will be considered unsuccessful and will not proceed to ISSB.
